Sunday School
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6
The Trinity Mar Thoma Church Sunday School is a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth of children. We believe that laying a strong biblical foundation during the early years is vital for raising faithful and responsible individuals rooted in Christian values.
Our Mission
Our mission is to guide children to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ. Through Bible-based teaching, prayer, worship, and service, we aim to build a generation that walks in God’s truth, demonstrates Christian character, and serves others in love.Sunday School
Our History
The origin of Sunday School dates back to the late 18th century when Robert Raikes, a philanthropist and publisher in Gloucester, England, began organizing religious education for poor and working-class children on Sundays. His vision was to provide moral and spiritual instruction to children who otherwise had no access to formal education. This movement rapidly spread across the world and laid the foundation for what we now know as the Sunday School Movement.
Inspired by this global legacy and rooted in the traditions of the Mar Thoma Church, the Sunday School at Trinity Mar Thoma Church, Hamilton was established in 2004 with around four children and two teachers. In those early days, we gathered in the home of one of our members, nurturing faith and fellowship in a simple yet meaningful setting
Sunday School at a Glance
From these humble beginnings, our Sunday School has flourished by God’s grace. Today, we are blessed with over 61 children and 12 devoted teachers as well as dedicated volunteers trom our congregation who play an integral part in shaping the lives of our young learners. The classes are from Nursery to the Young Adults. It continues to be a nurturing space where children grow in the Word of God, develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and are equipped to live out their faith in today’s world.
Students aged 3 to 16 years regularly attend Sunday School. Each Sunday, after the worship service, children gather for a singing, worship and offertory session before proceeding to their respective classes. Around 30 classes are conducted annually, providing a structured program that helps children grow in faith and Christian values.
The Sunday School Office Bearers and Teachers meet regularly to plan lessons, events, and activities that support the holistic development of the children. We are deeply thankful for their commitment, creativity, and prayerful dedication throughout the year.
