Our Story

The story of Trinity Mar Thoma Church began in 2004 as a small prayer fellowship in Hamilton. This humble beginning marked the start of a spiritual journey characterized by community, worship, and deep commitment to the faith.

Under the leadership of Rev. Raji Eapen, the fellowship was officially recognized in 2006 as a prayer group under the St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Auckland. In 2011, it was elevated to the status of a congregation.

After years of faithful service and spiritual growth, the congregation was officially elevated to parish status on 1st March 2025 by the Most Rev. Dr. Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan. The formal inauguration of the parish was held on 20th March 2025, officiated by our Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa.

The transition from congregation to parish was prayerfully and democratically carried out, with families expressing their full support. The name “Trinity Mar Thoma Church, Hamilton New Zealand” was proposed by the members and formally approved by the Synod.

We thank God for His faithfulness throughout this journey and look forward to the future with hope and purpose—firm in our mission to live out the Gospel and serve His Kingdom.
